Bio: Tabitha received her MFA in Jewelry/Metals from Kent State University and her BFA in Sculpture from Winthrop University. Originally from Orangeburg, she now resides in Cayce, SC. Tabitha is currently the interim Chair in the Department of Art at Claflin University.

Call For Artists: We are seeking original art submissions in any visual or wearable art modality including but not limited to: painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fashion design, pop art, comics, modern art, digital art, mixed media, collage, etc.
Theme: A Blue Light in the Dark (to be interpreted as abstractly and/or as widely as possible).
Directions: Create art. Take a photo of it and upload using the form below. Submission Deadline: December 9th
Contest Overview: 1st place winner will be featured on the website and an image of it will appear in the main festival video reel. Additionally, if we receive enough high quality submissions we will select up to two honorable mentions to be listed on the website.
The winning art and potential honorable mention(s) will appear on the Light in the Dark Fest website on December 19th by 8:00 PM EST

Judge: Al Black
Bio: Al Black's collections of poetry I Only Left for Tea (2014) and Man with Two Shadows (2018) has been published by Muddy Ford Press. He also co-edited Hand in Hand: Poets Respond to Race. He has been the host of Mind Gravy Poetry for over the past decade. He also hosts Poems: Bones of the Spirit, Magnify Magnolias, Songversation and co-hosts Blue Note Poetry. Additionally, he is the creater and co-host of the weekly Youtube interview series, Chewing the Gristle. He has named the 2017 Jasper Literary Artist of the Year.
